Buyer Raw Materials & Chemicals Cluster North (Temporary)
 

Introduction

The Buyer is responsible for operate the Global and Regional Procurement Managers negotiations for raw materials & chemicals for North Cluster (Consumer Tissue, Professional Hygiene and Personal Care) for Mexico & Dominican Republic.

About the Role

Responsible for purchasing goods and services across locations (plants and offices). He/she performs tactical procurement activities in alignment with the sourcing strategy while ensuring high-quality master data management.

What You Will Do

  • Manage risk and lead negotiations for all local categories across locations, using appropriate e-sourcing tools and techniques. Ensure appropriate contingency plans are in place in accordance to procurement policies and procedures. ​

  • Achieve savings targets for Price Negotiations and Material Rationalization for the sites

  • Elaborate pricing forecasts of their categories

  • Support Business Partnering to drive continuous improvement through cost saving projects, organizing trials, implementing supplier changes and tracking savings ​

  • Support Planning Team in case supplier issues on fill rate, deliveries, additional capacities, etc.

  • Ensure compliance with Essity procedures, purchasing policy and financial instructions​

  • Actively exchange best practice in the buyer team​ and ​identify and execute saving initiatives ​

  • Highlight opportunities to bundle and contract volumes ​and review buying channel mapping regularly for the local categories ​

  • Build sustainable relationships with suppliers

  • Provide insight to improvement system efficiency​ and escalate supplier to SQM and Category Management and system/process issues to Procurement Excellence to ensure continuous improvement 

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree - Engineering

  • 3 years of experience in Procurement, mainly materials

  • Communication and negotiation skills

  • Fluent in english for business

  • SAP, Ariba, Excel required
